Classes – Revision 3 – The pelast – Short range target damage dealer

Revision 3 of the classes/careers – First out: The Peltast.

When posting the version 3 revised classes I will start with the 10 archetype ones or as close to archetypes as they will come in this iteration of the game.

Design thoughts: The archetype for the short ranged (adjacent area) target damage dealer class is the Peltast, or Javelin thrower. Conceptually the idea is light roman or greek infantry used for skirmishes and to provoke and disturb the enemy adapted for a fantasy setting. In combat they dominate the near field by having excellent attacks with adjacent area reach for single targets.

Their skill set is that of militia more than heavy organized military.

T1 Peltast

Design thoughts: The basic short range target damage dealer. Skill set like irregular infantry with mobility and gambling.
Combat role: Short range target damage dealer “Flavor”: Javelins
Combat cards: 35 and 36
Roleplay: Athletics, gambling
L2P: During tier one you are almost as good a melee fighter as the rest but you can use your special attacks to weaken or kill the enemies before they manage to reach you with your javelin attacks.

T2 Peltast

Design thoughts: Same as T1
Combat role: Short range target damage dealer “Flavor”: Javelins
Combat cards: 54, 55 and 69
Roleplay: Athletics, gambling
L2P: Kill or weaken enemies before they reach you by throwing and moving or exploit opportunities created by controllers.

T3 Peltast

Design thoughts: Same as T1
Combat role: Short range target damage dealer “Flavor”: Javelins
Combat cards: 70, 73 and 74
Roleplay: Athletics, gambling
L2P: Kill or weaken enemies before they reach you by throwing and moving or exploit opportunities created by controllers. Let others take care of the melee fighting for the most part.
